Is It Easy to Have a Positive Mindset Consistently?
I can tell you from personal experience that practicing positive thinking as part of your daily life can be challenging. Especially these days, we live in a fast paced world where we are being pulled in every direction in our family life, careers, beliefs, health issues, etc. So, although some days are easier than others, still you are able to train your mind to think positive thoughts and begin to attract a desired reality for yourself.
Here is an Example of How Your Thinking Affects Your Reality
Let’s say you’ve been been called in for a job interview. For this mind demonstration, let’s play out two scenarios. In the first scenario, you begin to think “I’m not going to do well on the interview, I’m nervous the job might be out of my league.” Really you’re thinking more out of your comfort zone. Soon after that initial thought you will notice other negative thoughts and doubts will begin to set in. Then, other things begin to manifest, you can’t find an outfit that you think will be impressive. You start taking so much time thinking about finding the perfect outfit that you forget about planning further for your interview. Then other thoughts come in thinking you aren’t going to be the best fit because you might be up against more qualified people. You finally find an outfit for the interview, but now you have worries of not being qualified. The interview is the following day and you don’t have enough time to get prepared because other things have come up. The next day you walk into the job interview with a mindset of defeat before you even walk through the door. Now, I want you to pause and think how your appearance and your energy will have an affect on the interview outcome in this scenario?
Now, let’s play out the second scenario. In the second scenario, you received the phone call for the job interview. Your first thought is “I’m going to do great on this interview! I’ve got this!” You will notice more positive thoughts about the interview and the opportunities this will bring, even though you know this job might be out of your comfort zone. You take the afternoon to search for a perfect outfit and you find one at a decent price and it’s going to look great. Then, you decide on getting the haircut for a fresh look. You start researching on the company and the job position you’re being interviewed for so you can be prepared for your interview. You practice on some possible interview questions and think on some answers that would sound good. The next day you walk in the interview looking and feeling great! Now, I want you to pause and think on how your appearance and your energy will have an affect on the interview outcome in this scenario?
